The 2011 version of the Toronto Rugby Union Boys’ Under 18 Rugby competition sees the Mississauga Blues entering a squad in the competitive West league and a squad in the developmental West league. Both teams can qualify for Provincial play-offs in the Fall.
With over 45 players registered in 2011, there is real depth to the squads, and with at least half of the players returning from 2010, there is justified optimism for a successful season. Coaches Keith Wilkinson and Alex McFarlane will select by form and fitness. “We have six players involved with the provincial representative teams, but reputations don’t count here, says McFarlane, we have players from 10 different schools in the Peel region and we see these teams as continuing the development of Rugby in the region.”
